ACT's National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a portable credential that demonstrates a certain level of workplace employability skills in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information. Certificates offer an efficient matching of talent with work‐which helps people find great jobs, companies find skilled workers and our nation's economy grow and prosper.
Alaska Joined the national program in 2008. To date, thousands of Alaskans have earned certificates and lots of businesses of all sizes, in a variety of industries, are supporting the certificate by recognizing or requesting the NCRC in their hiring practices. Some employers are requiring the NCRC at specific levels in their hiring after getting key positions analyzed by an ACT authorized WorkKeys job profiler.

The credential level is determined by the minimum or lowest score across all three WorkKeys assessments. For example, a jobseeker/student that scores a 5 in Applied Mathematics, 5 in Reading for Information, and a 4 in Locating Information earns a silver certificate because the lowest of the three scores is a 4.
